There was a man who was surely not the most loved person in the world. Actually he was rejected and neglected. One day he heard about Jesus coming to town. He tried to get a good spot, but because he was not the tallest (and I am sure the people made sure he would NOT be able to get the front row), he climbed onto a tree. What a funny view this must have been. He had heard about Jesus, now he wanted to see him. What would have happened if Jesus would have turned the other side or took a detour so he would not get in touch with this tax guy or customs officer and sinner? What if Jesus would have just passed him – perhaps even looking at him – but no further contact?
Jesus spoke and invited himself into his house, so that he could not only hear or see, but have his own experience with him.(Luke 19:5)
Dear friend, you may have heard about Jesus, perhaps you have even seen pictures of him, a movie or even seen him in other people who have done good things to you. All good, but one is missing. You will never really know him if you don’t come from hearing to seeing to experiencing him.
He is not passing you, but standing in front our your hearts door. No matter what you have done, no matter what others think about you. He is inviting himself into your life – now it is up to you to also experience him by letting Him come into your heart and life. He will change your life!
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
P.S. If you want to invite him and don’t know how to do it, please write to me and it will be my greatest honor to pray with you and lead you to Jesus.
